Lamborghini Urus SUV coming in 2017; may or may not be like concept

According to a report in Bloomberg Lamborghini’s long mooted SUV will be arriving in showrooms, at least in Europe, from 2017.

According to the Bloomberg article, the “expectation” is that the Lamborghini SUV would be introduced to the world in 2017.

It’s expected that the car will share its underpinnings with other high-end SUVs in the Volkswagen family. As such it’s likely to share components, but not a shape, with the upcoming Bentley SUV. It may also be related to the next generation Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7.

What’s not known, at this stage, is whether the Lamborghini SUV will look like the Urus concept car from 2012 nor what it will be called. The Urus concept featured a 440kW motor powering all four wheels and riding on 24-inch alloys. The company never revealed what configuration the Urus’ motor had.
