Kia Procee’d GT coming to Australia; timing and pricing not yet known

Kia Australia has announced that the Procee’d GT hot hatch will be coming to Australia, but that it doesn’t know when it will arrive nor how much it will cost.

As we reported earlier, the three-door Procee’d GT features a turbocharged 1.6-litre direct injection petrol engine with 150kW of power and 265Nm of torque that’s taken directly from the Hyundai Veloster SR Turbo. The standard transmission on the Procee’d GT is a 6-speed manual, which should be good for a 0 to 100km/h time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 230km/h.

Given that much of mechanical gear is shared with the Veloster that an automatic transmission might in the offing for us as well.

At this stage, Australia will be the only market outside of Europe to receive the Procee’d GT. At this stage we won’t be receiving the five-door Cee’d GT, nor the more prosaic versions of the Procee’d and Cee’d.
