Kia Pro_cee’d GT, Cee’d GT will be world’s most awkwardly named hot hatches

Kia’s first ever hot hatch will make its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March. It will be available in both 3-door Pro_cee’d and 5-door Cee’d forms.

Under the shapely hood is a turbocharged 1.6-litre direct injection petrol engine (essentially the same one that powers the Hyundai Veloster SR Turbo) with 150kW of power and 265Nm of torque. Coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission, the Cee’d GT and Pro_cee’d GT (pictured above) can run from 0 to 100km/h in a claimed 7.9 seconds.

The awkwardly named hot hatches will go on sale from the middle of 2013 in Europe and, if certain reports are to believed, the 3-door Pro_cee’d GT could make its way to Australia eventually.

Both the Pro_cee’d GT and Cee’d GT will feature 18-inch alloy wheels, dual exhaust pipes, red brake calipers and LED daytime running lights.

The Cee’d and Pro_cee’d (pictured below) are, currently, Europe only companions to the new Cerato, which go on sale in Australia this year.
