Kia GT4 Stinger concept: RWD, 2L turbo, maybe Genesis coupe’s sibling

At the 2014 Detroit Motor Show Kia will show off its GT4 Stinger concept car, which mates a 2-litre turbo engine with a rear-wheel drive chassis.

Under the Kia GT4 Stinger’s longish bonnet resides a 2-litre turbocharged direct injection 4-cylinder petrol engine with 235kW (315hp) of power. Power is sent the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission and double wishbone suspension.

The GT4 Stinger rides on 20-inch alloy wheels with carbon fibre inserts to lower weight and increase strength. Hidden (partially) by these wheels are 2-piece cross-drilled Brembo brakes.

Given the basics we’ve been told thus far we’re beginning to wonder whether the GT4 Stinger is a teaser (or a reaction gauge) for a Kia sibling to the second generation rear-wheel drive Hyundai Genesis coupe.
