Infiniti set to open in Sydney, Brisbane; Melbourne delayed

Nissan’s luxury marque has officially launched itself into the Australian market, with a dealer each in Sydney and Brisbane set to open soon; a Melbourne retail outlet will follow to six to eight weeks after.

Infiniti’s launch lineup will consist of the FX SUV and the M sedan, and will be joined by the G coupe and convertible by the end of this year. A new generation of the G sedan will be unveiled in the early part of 2013 and should go on sale in Australia by the end of that year.

The company will soon open a dealership each in Sydney and Brisbane, with a dealer in Melbourne following several weeks behind. Infiniti Centre Sydney is located at 134 William St (on the corner with Bourke St), East Sydney, on the site of an previous Ferrari dealership. Infiniti Centre Brisbane will be located at 5 James St, Fortitude Valley. The location of the Melbourne dealership has yet to be announced.

The company is hoping to have a dealership each in Adelaide and Perth setup by the end of 2013. 2014 should see second dealerships in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as new premises potentially on the Gold Coast, and in Geelong and Canberra. All up there should 15 to 20 dealerships across the nation within five years.

According to Infiniti Australia’s general manager, Kevin Snell, the brand is taking a slow and methodical approach to its roll out to ensure that it gets all aspects of its customer experience right.
