Infiniti Q30 Concept points to Merc A-Class based entry-level hatchback

Infiniti, Nissan’s luxury arm, has given the world its first look at the upcoming Q30 hatchback, which is based on the front-wheel drive underpinnings of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Lose a few of the concept car details, such as the frameless door windows, pop-out or hidden door handles, space age-style seats and the like, and you’ll have a very close approximation of the Q30 hatch, which is due to go on sale in either 2014 or 2015.

Ahead of the Q30 Concept’s grand unveiling in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Infiniti isn’t talking about the Q30’s specifics, but we’d be surprised if the dimensions aren’t roughly similar to the A-Class hatch. We’ll likely see a selection of engines shared with the A-Class, CLA and GLA.
