Honda Civic Type R Concept previews pumped up, bewinged 206kW turbo monster

In search of its long lost mojo, Honda has created the most aggressive and powerful Civic Type R ever, complete with a 206kW turbocharged engine.

As reported before, the new Civic Type R will be the first Type R model to sport a turbocharged engine. Under the hood there will be a 2-litre direct injection turbo with over 206kW of power and a reported 400Nm of torque. Power will go to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual.

The Civic Type R Concept sports enlarged front and rear fenders, a vented bonnet, an aggressive carbon fibre bodykit including a mammoth rear wing with integrated tail-lights, new headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels, and quad exhausts.

It’s expected that the new Civic Type R will go on sale in Europe in 2015, with sales starting in Australia towards the end of that year.
