Buyers will need to stump up A$2,500 as a deposit to secure their vehicle. In return not only are pre-orderers guaranteed to be one of the first in the country to own the new WRX, but they will receive their first scheduled service gratis. Mind you, that’s only a saving of A$275. The pre-order period ends when all 100 are pre-sold or the end of December 13.

Interestingly the pre-order form does spill some details about the new WRX. It will available locally in two equipment levels (standard and Premium), and there are seven colours from which to choose: red, blue, dark blue, black, grey, silver and white.

At the time of writing (around 2pm AEDT, November 26), about two hours after the feature went live, there are still 98 of 100 pre-order WRXes available. This puts the new WRX well behind the site-crashing stampede when Subaru Australia decided to offer its small BRZ allocation exclusively via online order.
