Fiat 500 boosted by new Turbo version

We’re not sure when or if the new 500 Turbo is coming to Australia, but it will sit between the regular 500 and the Abarth 500 in the US where it’s just been revealed.

Sporting a less powerful version of the turbocharged 1.4-litre engine, the Turbo has 100kW (136hp) and 203Nm (150lb-ft) at its disposal. For comparison’s sake the Australian Abarth 500 has 118kW and 230Nm, while the regular 500 TwinAir and its turbocharged 900cc engine has just 63kW and 145Nm.

Upgraded brakes, retuned suspension, smoked out headlights, revised bumpers and a five speed manual are all part of the package in the US, where the RRP is US$19,950. There’s also a 6-speaker Beats by Dr Dre sound system featuring an 8-inch dual-voice coil and a 368W amplifier.
