F32 BMW M4 Concept: big on looks, small on detail

BMW has issued the first official pictures of the F32 M4 Concept coupe to coincide with the car’s launch at the Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach.

The new concept car is practically the M3 coupe-replacing M4, but BMW is keeping mum on the details until later. We’ll probably know more when the car appears at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

This means there’s no confirmation, yet, on rumours that the new M4 will sport a tri-turbo 6-cylinder engine. Nor do we know specifics about that car’s power output, performance, fuel economy, transmission(s) or trick drivetrain technology.

Many pieces of the M4 Concept, such as the roof, front splitter and rear diffuser, are fashioned out of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP), and will likely surface in the M4 or some future variant thereof. The M4 Concept’s headlights are an all LED affair, while the boot is unique as it incorporates an integrated higher, more arched boot lip. The car rides on 20-inch M-branded alloy wheels and has ceramic brakes.
