Electric Smart ForStars carries camera/projector on the bonnet

Powered by an electric drivetrain from the electric Smart Brabus ForTwo that isn’t sold in Australia, the ForStars is supposedly aimed at both (wannabe) stars and those who want to see the stars.

For the latter this concept car features a convex glass roof. For the former there’s a video camera mounted on the hood ready to capture any impromptu performances.

Also positioned on the bonnet is a projector ready to play back those pieces of cinematic greatness, if you can find a large white wall to thrust your car’s nose near; there’s also a set of speakers hidden under slats in the hood. Thankfully if your acting skills are as poor as ours, the projector is kitted out with Bluetooth, allowing you to play movies back wirelessly.

Other features include LED lighting within and without the car, and seats padded in a mixture of hammock-like material and soft leather. A smartphone dock resides where the rear view mirror normally is. Once plugged in the driver’s smartphone not only controls the car’s audio system, but is connected to the reversing camera.

The upgraded electric motor pumps out 60kW of power and 135Nm of torque, and is good for a top speed of 130km/h. No word on how far the 17.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack will take you.

The ForStars is rather unfortunately described by its maker as a “sports utility coupe”, which brings to mind the horror of the Suzuki X-90.
