E160 Toyota Corolla to sport Euro style, arrives Feb, made in Thailand

Without giving too much away, Toyota Australia announced today that the new W160-series Corolla sedan will arrive in Australian showrooms from the middle of February 2014.

As we know from the car that’s sold in Europe and the US, the new E160 Corolla is about 10cm longer overall and roomier on the inside thanks to a 10cm longer wheelbase.

Toyota Australia has yet to confirm specifications, engines, transmissions and pricing, but, if the Australian market Corolla hatch is anything to go by, expect a 103kW/173Nm 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

If Toyota’s selection of press images are accurate (and why wouldn’t they be?), the Corolla we’ll be seeing here will look a lot like the Euro version, albeit built in Thailand.
