C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 leaked before Detroit; has 462kW/880Nm

The high performance version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette, the Z06, has been revealed on the internet ahead of its official unveiling at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show via Left Lane News.

Update (14 Jan, 2014): Official word from Chevrolet says that the new Corvette Z06 has a 466kW/861Nm V8.

Even though the images have been scrubbed from the site, the internet has managed to save them. The go-even-faster version of the latest Corvette is known to a have V8 pumping out 462kW of power and 880Nm of torque to the rear wheels via 7-speed transmission of some sort.

The images suggest that the transmission will be an automated transmission with some sort of rev matching system for down shifts. Nor do we know what form the V8 engine will take, how large it is and whether it features any forced induction. Although given the suspected 880Nm its packing forced induction looks likely.

Don’t fret, though, with the Detroit Motor Show starting on Monday in the US we’ll know soon enough.
