Audi refreshes R8 with dual clutch transmission, edgier looks

Audi has facelifted its R8 supercar with a slightly edgier look, but the big changes are under the skin where a new dual clutch transmission lurks.

There are detail changes to the bumpers, side intake and lights, but the big news is that it has finally replaced the 6-speed automated sequential transmission (R-tronic) in the R8 with something a bit more befitting the four-ringed supercar: a new 7-speed dual clutch transmission (S-tronic).

Buyers still have the option of going for a manual (six speeds, no less). Changes have been made to both the coupe and convertible versions.
