Aston Martin One-77: Australia’s one and only on display at motor show

For the next week and a half at the Sydney Motor Show, somewhere between halls 4 and 5 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, a privately owned Aston Martin One-77 will be on display.

Even if you have a hard time telling the beautiful Vantage from the lovely Vanquish, the One-77 stands out from the Aston Martin pack. Even though it features a lot Aston Martin styling cues, it’s several shades more aggressive, overt and masculine than the rest of the range.

Under the long languorous hood is a 7.3-litre V12 pushing out 559kW (750hp) of power and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque. All that fury is put to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automated manual transmission. The A$2 million vehicle can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 354km/h.

And what’s in the name? It’s meant to be the ultimate Aston Martin (at least for now) and only 77 will be built. Ever. The car on display at the Sydney Motor Show is the only one in Australia and it’s not known who the owner is.
