2015 Cadillac Escalade to feature unique interior, LCD instruments

A week before the new Cadillac Escalade is revealed in full, Cadillac is teasing us with a photo of the next generation luxury behemoth’s interior, which unlike previous iterations is its own thing.

Previous generations of the Caddy Escalade featured interiors ripped straight from their Chevrolet and GMC brothers. Sure they were gussied up with the odd splash of leather or chrome, but it couldn’t hide the fact that you were paying a Hilton price for ambience of a hostel.

The new Escalade, however, will feature a unique interior. This time around there’s a distinct dashboard design cribbed straight from the CTS and ATS, and every conceivable surface is covered in leather, alcantara or piano black plastic. As is expect there’s also a generous helping of supposedly real wood trim (in the case of the photo above it’s elm).

Closer inspection of the supplied interior shot reveals a few other tidbits. Behind the column shifter for the automatic transmission is a high-res LCD screen that replaces the analogue instrument cluster of yore. The centre stack features a high-res touchscreen, Cadillac Cue entertainment and nav system, and capacitive controls for the stereo and climate control. Other elements we can discern include mood lighting, heated and cooled seats.
