2014 Nissan Dualis/Qashqai has 7-inch touchscreen, LED headlights

Nissan has unveiled the second generation Dualis small SUV, which is known as the Qashqai (pronounced kash-kai) in Europe. The new model is longer and wider, but sits lower than the first generation car.

In Europe the new generation Qashqai can be had with a new 85kW/190Nm 1.2-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine hooked up to a 6-speed manual or 110kW 1.6-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. The turbo-diesel engine options include a 81kW 1.5-litre and a 96kW 1.6-litre.

All models in the Dualis/Qashqai range is fitted with automatic engine start/stop as standard, and can be ordered with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. In Europe top shelf Qashqais will run on 19-inch alloy wheels.

Technology available on the Dualis/Qashqai includes all LED headlights, LED driving lights, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, front collision detection, automated parking, and surround view camera. Top spec models will also be available with 7-inch touchscreen navigation and entertainment system, dubbed NissanConnect, that integrates with streaming smartphone apps.
