2014 Mazda 3 sedan revealed: looks as good as you’d expect

Mazda’s new 3 sedan has been revealed ahead of schedule thanks to Top Gear Russia, which has published photos of the car prior to its embargo lifting.

As you can see from the photos above the car looks like the Mazda 3 hatchback, but with small boot attached. And, as we expected, it looks good. In many ways it looks like a scaled down Mazda 6 sedan, albeit with a shorter trunk.

Although there’s no official word yet, it’s likely that the new 3 sedan will arrive in Australia at the same time as the 3 hatchback, during the first quarter of 2014. The hatch has been confirmed to launch with a choice of either the 114kW/200Nm 2-litre or 138kW/250Nm 2.5-litre petrol engines.

The interior looks to unchanged from the hatchback, which features (in high spec models, at least) a head-up display, an integrated nav and entertainment system with a high-res 7-inch display, internet capabilities, and a centrally mounted tacho with a digital speedo that’s flanked digital displays.
