2014 DH Hyundai Genesis sedan: RHD confirmed, Australia TBD

Hyundai has given the world a first official look at its second generation Genesis luxury rear-wheel drive sedan via a pair of computer generated sketches.

Hyundai has confirmed that its second generation rear-wheel drive Genesis sedan will be built in right-hand drive, unlike the current model. Officially the car is under consideration for Australia, but no decision has yet been reached. The second generation of the yet-to-be-revealed Genesis coupe will, however, be coming to Australia, although timing has yet to confirmed.

The second-gen Genesis sedan will be available in both rear- and all-wheel drive, the latter branded H-Trac. Confirmed tech on the new model includes a seat belt that tightens to warn the driver of a potential crash, and traction cornering control.

In the current-gen Genesis sedan buyers can choose between 3.3- or 3.8-litre V6, or 4.6- or 5-litre V8 petrol engines.
