2013 Nissan Altima hands-on preview: look out Camry, Accord, Mazda 6

We’ve all see a V8 Supercar pretending to be the Nissan Altima hooning around racetracks, but the real deal will soon make its way into Aussie showrooms.

At the 2013 New York Auto Show we got to kick the tyres of the new Nissan Altima. The car seen here is a top-spec 3.5 SL with all the fruit.

Edgy, but not too edgy
Edgy, but not too edgy

It's not too out there, but it's certainly more exciting to look at than the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord that it's pitched directly against in America.

Altima vs. Camry vs. Mazda 6 vs. Accord

How does the Nissan Altima compare numbers-wise with its natural prey? Pretty much line ball. It’s almost as if these companies are designing their cars with one eye on the competition.
